![]() ![]() ![]() Utilize computer information systems to support pharmacy processesĬomplete required cleaning, monitoring, logs, pharmacy/nursing unit inspections, recalls and outdates to established standardsĪssist in exchange of crash cart trays and auxiliary stockĬonduct all required deliveries and other patient care area rounds Order, receive, store medications and supplies Refill automated dispensing devices, dispensing technology in the medical center Participate in all didactic/classroom, simulation lab, and experiential training as outlined by the program curriculum Perform the following tasks under supervision of registered pharmacist and/or registered pharmacy technician and direction of the Pharmacy Technician Training Program Manager.Ĭompound, prepare and process medications/medication orders for final verification by the pharmacist The position is temporary in status to allow temporary employee to obtain required education to sit for a Pharmacy Technician Certification exam and pursue licensure with New York State.The didactic learning is to be completed independently but must be completed before progressing to the simulation lab, which begins after week 3 of the program.Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, and/or Registered Technician in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures, trainee is responsible for performing many supportive functions in the department to deliver high quality patient-centered care.The training program is a 14-week Entry Level program that includes 120 hours of asynchronous online didactic learning,50 hours in simulation lab (online/live) and 230 hours of experiential/on-site learning at various settings within Mount Sinai Health System.Trainee will participate in the Pharmacy Technician Training Program which prepares them to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam (PTCB) and become registered and licensed pharmacy technician in New York State.
